Bennett History Collection

The Bennett History collection consists of photographic images ranging from the late 1800’s to as recent as the 1980’s. The Bennett History Collection is a pictorial representation of Bennett College’s growth from an elementary and secondary level school started in the basement of the Warnersville Methodist Episcopal Church (now known as St. Matthew’s Methodist Church) to the fully accredited women’s college that it is today. The collection highlights Bennett’s history as a coeducational institution and seminary prior to 1926 and the growth of the institution under the leadership of Dr. David Dallas and Dr. Willa B. Player.
