A weekly periodical issued between 1844 and 1965 by the Southern Convention of Christian Churches, a part of the General Convention of Christian Churches. This larger group merged with other denominations to become the Congregational Christian Church in 1931, and the United Church of Christ in 1957. The paper is focused on the activities of these groups in North Carolina and Virginia.
