Mabel Vines Pearson Scrapbook, 1925 – 1933

This scrapbook, created by Mabel Vines Pearson between 1925 and 1933, documents Pearson’s experience as a student at the North Carolina College for Women (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Pearson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1929. She was a member of the Aletheian Society, the Mathematics Club, and the Education Club. The scrapbook is predominantly annotated in white ink on black paper, and contains signature and notes from friends and classmates, ephemera related to Pearson’s membership in the Aletheian Society; various tests and exams, including French (1926), rhetoric, analytical geometry, sophomore English, sociology, and trigonometry; a 1926 May Day program; and photographs of students sleeping in dorms and playing cards.
