Elizabeth JoAnne Smart Drane Papers, 1956 – 1957

Elizabeth JoAnne Smart Drane was a student of the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina, graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Upon being admitted in 1956, Drane made history as one of the first two African Americans to be accepted as full-time students at WCUNC. The Elizabeth JoAnne Smart Drane Papers date from 1956 to 1957.
