This collection consists of constituent correspondence, photographs, videos, issue files, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, government and legislative documents, and personal files. Howard Coble is a former United States Representative for North Carolina’s 6th District. Elected in 1984, Coble served in Congress from 1985 until he retired in 2015. As a Greensboro native, he attended Guilford College after serving with the United States Coast Guard. He later studied law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his early career, Coble was a practicing attorney. He also served as a North Carolina House Representative before being elected into the United States Congress.
