Claude Zenobia Poindexter Scrapbook, 1902 – 1905

This scrapbook, created by Claude Zenobia Poindexter between 1902 and 1905, documents Poindexter’s attendance at the State Normal and Industrial College (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). The scrapbook is annotated throughout with handwritten notes on events surrounding commencement, as well as notes on gifts Poindexter received. The scrapbook also contains the names of the Junior Marshalls, the class yell, documentation on the Class of 1908 adoption of a weeping willow tree, and autographs from teachers and students of the State Normal and Industrial College. Other contents include newspaper clippings of the Sermon to the Class of 1905, Class Day exercises, Diplomas Given to the Class of 1905, and the Annual Banquet of the Alumnae.
